The Heavens Declare His Handiwork!!

There was supposed to be some sort of phenomena with the moon tonight. It was supposed to be an optical illusion that it was extra huge. It was sure beautiful, but I did not see the illusion that they talked about. Here are some pictures of the moon last night. It is hard to hold still enough to get a good moon shot.

Today was another busy Saturday. I am so looking forward to a more relaxed Saturday at some point. Today was our second chicken butchering day. We had to run into town for a couple of things. The sky was really strange. I took 2 pictures below. Most of the sky was the whitish color you see above the line. The line was so straight across and then below it was blue sky and puffy clouds.

I have not been having too much computer time, so my posts may be short and sweet. I sure hope that more of you will join me on Monday and post a blessing that you have in your life.

Show And Tell Friday

Kelli hosts a show and tell Friday. Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!

I have a dear friend that recently moved to Kentucky. She lived about an hour away from me before she moved, so we did not see each other often, but it seems harder knowing I can't go spend the day with her. When she was packing to move, she had this casserole dish that she said reminded her of me and she wanted me to have it. Whenever I use it, I think of my sweet friend Wina. Thanks Wina!!

This-N-That

Yesterday, my Dad called and told me he was coming over for breakfast. =) I was more than happy to fix breakfast for my Dad. I am glad he feels like he can call and ask that. It was good to have another visit with him. He has been up here in Ohio for about 7 weeks. Now that all the family get togethers are over, he will be heading home next week sometime. It might be awhile before I get to see him again, so that is another reason to be thankful for the visit.

The children next door got involved in 4-H this year. I always loved 4-H with Joshua. One of the projects that the girl did was a dog training class. She needed a picture of the dog for her book. So, she came over and I took a picture of her with Sam their dog. Sam is such a good dog. He is huge though. It looks like he is smiling a bit in this picture.

Well, the official name of our new little heifer calf is Clover. We were calling her Sweet Pea, but she just looks like a Clover. She is so adorable. She has been over with 2 of our little steer calves for a couple of days now. She caught on to the bottle right away and will already come right to you. Here are a couple of pictures of her.

I saw this weird looking butterfly in the grass. I had my camera with me as usual, so I took a picture and then never thought anymore of it. However, when I blew the picture up big, I think it is two butterflies mating. If you click on it, you will see a bigger version.

We got some much needed rain. Our garden is in MUCH need of weeding. =) I will have to take a picture of it. We have these HUGE volunteer squash or pumpkin plants. I am waiting to see what they produce before I rip them out. They are the healthiest thing out there. =)

Dogs Playing & Farm Pictures

It has been fun playing with a puppy again. They have so much personality and ENERGY. I have been playing with the camera using the puppy as my subject. One day, I will get it all figured out. Dixie gets so excited when it is time to eat. She jumps all around and attacks your hands and the bowl as if she has not eaten in days. Then she lays down, sticks her nose in the bowl and eats. =)

God created such a wide variety of flowers. Their designs are so perfect and exact. Here are just a few blooms around the farm. Some of them are a bit blurry. I am trying different settings on the camera and hopefully learning from my errors.

The sky was breath taking last night. A big thunder head was building up with the sun behind it. I kept waiting to hear that trumpet sound!!!

Count Your Blessings Monday

I started something new last week. Too often we don't take time to count our blessings. So, I am going to give us an opportunity every Monday to not only count our blessings, but to share them with others. Make a post on your blog telling us about your blessing. You can snag the picture above and use it on your blog. Please put a link back to this post. You can add the URL of the page you share your blessing on for others to go to. Many of our blessings we will have pictures of and we can share those as well. It looks like only 2 people out of all the people that come to the blog each day actually had a blessing to share. That can't be true. =) It is a blessing to be able to breath, to get out of bed, to hold a baby... Share your blessings with us.

Today, my blessing I am going to share is my son. He is truly my gift from God. We tried to have children and were unable to. His adoption is a wonderful story of the goodness of God.

Carli's Wedding

I love all my nieces and nephews a bunch. Carli has always been special though. She has been so thoughtful and loving and sweet. She is 99.9% selfless. She would sit by the kids at school that everyone else made fun of. She would help anyone who needed help. She is loved by many, including her Aunt Marci. She isn't perfect, but she is exceptional. I told you about Carli getting her horses here. Carli got married to a wonderful young man named Matthew yesterday. It was a beautiful wedding and I want to share it with you. I put up a lot of pictures so that family who were not able to make it can see pictures.

Here is a picture of Matt and Carli last weekend at my nephew Jacob's graduation party.

My brother Scott's property is very deep. They had the guests park at the front of the property by their neighbor's house and the wedding was way down at the back of the property. They had a really great way to get the guests from the parking area to the wedding. I am not sure what kind of horses these are, but they were beautiful. In the first picture they are turning the wagon around for people to load into. The next picture is of the wagon going down the long driveway.

This next picture shows my nephew Scott Jr. seating my Dad and his girlfriend, Alice. The other little guy on the left is my nephew Brett. Both Scott Jr. and Brett are brothers of the bride. The area that they held the wedding in was on the other side of the creek. My brother Scott is VERY creative. He built a wonderful bridge over the water. He even made a waterfall, but with the lack of rain, there was not much going down the falls. The bridge is where the processional started.

Carli's husband (wow that sounds weird) is also very into horses. Here he comes riding in on his horse. The second picture is taken while he is on the bridge. That is the pastor and the best man that you see on the left part of the photo.

The wagon was put into use again to get the bridesmaids down to the bridge. Here they are just pulling in.

This is my niece, Juli. She is my brother Mark's daughter. It is hard to believe she is only 14. She was one of the bridesmaids.

This is the ring bearer and the flower girls. The ring bearer is my nephew Brett. His sister Kati is on the right of the picture and a family friend is the other flower girl.

Here comes Scott with the beautiful bride. My brother is so tender hearted. This carriage came all the way across the bridge and then around the back so that Carli could come up the aisle.

After the ceremony, Matt and Carli rode off in the carriage. They were absolutely glowing. I loved the sign on the back of the carriage.

Here is a picture of Scott and his family along with his new son-in-law. From left to right - Brett, Matt, Scott Jr., Anne, Kati, Scott, Carli and Matthew.

Here is the new couple dancing together. I am still trying to figure out my new camera, so this picture and a few others are a bit dark.

I was a sobbing mess watching this. Scott and his daughter sharing a dance together. It was a precious thing to see.

The weather could not have cooperated more. There was a huge front with rain on the radar. It should have come and showered us. It did not. It just kept staying put and when it finally did move, it started going south, just before it got to their area. It was cloudy, but it made it so the sun was not unbearable. It was probably in the mid to high 70's. There was a bit of a breeze and the evening ended with a spectacular sunset. This picture does not even do it justice.

Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! I wanted to share my Tater & Onion Bin. The top part of it is a bread box. My son, Joshua made this for me when he was 15 years old. It is one of my special pieces of furniture.

Little Boys and Puppies

The children would lay down on the ground and the puppy would pounce.

Fun On The Farm

Yesterday and today, I watched my neighbor's 4 children. We have had a good time so far. When Joshua got home, he was throwing the baseball with 2 of the boys. The dogs were trying to steal the ball when they got the chance.

The puppy was a big hit. The children would lay down in the grass and she would attack with glee. I have a video of it that I will also post. The puppy was worn out and slept all night. =)

Here is a picture of the oldest boy and Josh as they were throwing the baseball.
